Animated children’s series on Netflix sheds light on the lesbian kiss between minors

By the Movieguide® team

Netflix’s JURASSIC WORLD: CAMP CRETACEOUS is the latest children’s television series that includes sexual content.

After five seasons, the animated series culminates in a passionate kiss between two young girls.

Despite the sexualization of minors, Netflix did not include a disclaimer at the start of the episode. The series is rated “TV-PG” for violence but never mentions underage lesbian kissing.

According to the show’s IMDb description, the children are “teens.” However, Dreamworks has confirmed that the two characters who share the kiss, named Yasmina “Yaz” Fadoula and Sammy Gutierrez, are 15 and 14 years old respectively.

Unfortunately, Netflix has a history of child sexualization in its content.

Although previous heinous content like BIG MOUTH and HUMAN RESOURCES were animated, they contained borderline child pornography and received TV-MA ratings.

However, like JURASSIC WORLD: CAMP CRETACEOUS, Netflix’s more tame shows might contain sexual content.

Movieguide® has already reported:

Netflix recently dubbed its adult animated series, with another series from the creators of pornography BIG MOUTH, with HUMAN RESOURCES.

The Parents Television and Media Council (PTC), a media watchdog group, said HUMAN RESOURCES had “disturbing and sexualizing references to children”.

Both TV-MA shows involve grossly immoral and sexual content involving – and about – minors.

In HUMAN RESOURCES, the PTC notes that there is a “hormonal monster” that encourages young children to “touch their private parts.”

In addition to kinky sexual content, both shows contain graphic and foul language.

Melissa Henson, program director for PTC, said anime shows on Netflix and other major broadcasters get away with content that would be illegal if it wasn’t animated.

“The kinds of references, the kinds of sexual behaviors, the kinds of themes, etc., that they face in these animated programs are beyond pale and far beyond what you would typically see in a live-action program,” Henson told the Christian Post.

“Animation is generally a format that children, in particular, enjoy and children’s eyes are particularly drawn to the animated format,” she added. “That’s not to say adults can’t enjoy it too, but if a kid sees a cartoon character on a screen, the assumption is, ‘Oh, well, that’s for me. “”

As a result, adults can watch animated porn content involving minors without repercussions. Plus, kids are probably unable to decipher the difference between eye-catching animated vignettes on TV-MA shows and ones that suit them.
