It’s one of the coolest cars you’ve ever seen – but now a real life version of Danger Mouse’s Danger Car is on sale in the Midlands.
The incredible bright yellow car replica from the original version of the classic 1980s children’s cartoon series is for sale on eBay.
The car, designed on an existing 1999 Mazda MX5, is sold by the Wednesbury-based dealer Emerald House of Cars.

It features bespoke bodywork, neon lights, a futuristic-looking interior – including buttons and decals – and is painted in Lamborghini Pearl Yellow.
Motorists who buy the car would be lucky enough to own “a piece of British television history,” the dealership said.
More than 30 people have already bid on the item, the latest at £ 2,100 so far on Saturday 6 November. The auction ends on Tuesday, November 9 at 11:46 a.m.
Proceeds from the sale will go to the Ben charity, which looks after people in the auto industry.
A team of technicians designed the car over 30 days, from September to October, so that it could be entered in the Bangers4Ben car rally, which takes place annually and raises funds for the association.
Dealer Manager PJ Quinn said it was a “meticulous” task and staff members spent hours after work to complete the project.
The rally challenged participants to enter a ‘Best of Britain’ themed car, with a maximum budget of £ 750.
After a lot of hard work, the Emerald House of Cars team produced a unique car that was a fitting tribute to the TV series.
It was even voted best car in the rally by the judges, Mr Quinn said.
Mr Quinn, accompanied by workshop manager Chad Owen, drove the car on the rally – which circled around England – disguised as characters Danger Mouse and his sidekick Penfold.
It was the two men’s idea to base the car on Danger Mouse, as they were big fans of the show growing up.
Mr Quinn said: “We loved it when we were kids, we grew up on it and I thought it would be an absolute scream to bring the cartoon to life.
“Because we are so busy with regular work, we had to build it after working hours.
“It was literally when the shop closed at 6 p.m., a few technicians would stay there and do a few hours every night on it.”
The team of technicians included Mr. Owen, Jon Quirkland, Anna Grace Gregory and mechanic Connor Cooper, the latter of whom helped rebuild the engine – which ran into problems on the last day of the project and forced the team to work all night to complete the task.
Mr Quinn continued, “The construction was horrible. We didn’t think we would do it to be honest.
“It was a very laborious build. None of the original car, the Mazda MX5, you can’t even see the original car.
“We welded a metal frame to the top of the original car and metallized the new body.
“It was absolutely crazy. It doesn’t look anything like an MX5 now, everything that was pretty much standard on the MX5 has just been taken out and scrapped.
“There is no roof, no bumper, no fenders and we just made the new body on the car.
“The rally was ‘the best of the British’ so there were all kinds of British themes.
“Me and Chad, who did most of the work, brainstormed and thought about what we could build and what would be really off the beaten path.
“Our goal was to win the best car in the rally – they give awards for different things – and we were able to win the best car, but we won the judges’ choice overall (too).”
He added, “We did a good job bringing this cartoon to life.
“Shape-wise, it’s pretty close to the original. There are buttons inside that light up. It was a lot of fun doing that.”
