Fairly OddParents Trailer Reveals First Look at Adult Timmy Live

Caleb Pierce plays a live-action college-aged Timmy Turner in the new trailer for upcoming Paramount + show The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder.

The trailer for the upcoming live-action series Quite Odd Parents: Quite Odd reveals a first look at adult Timmy Turner. The original cartoon my godparents are magic followed the adventures of “average child” Timmy Turner, who discovers he has fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda who are literal fairies who can grant all his wishes, although of course those wishes usually go wrong and cause chaos. The series first aired on Nickelodeon from 2001 to 2006 before being revived from 2007 to 2012.

Although there have been a variety of Fairly Odd Parents media in the meantime, including several live-action TV movies starring Drake Bell, the latest development is Kind of weird, which will mix live action with animation. The series is set to premiere exclusively on Paramount+ starting March 31, 2022. The series will star Audrey Grace Marshall as Timmy’s younger cousin Viv and Tyler Wladis as her half-brother Roy. Although their world, and the magical consequences associated with it, will be live, the fairies themselves will still be rendered in 2D style.

Today Paramount+ shared the very first trailer for Quite Odd Parents: Quite Odd. Along with showing plenty of glimpses of the magical chaos that Viv and Roy will find themselves in, it showed the first look at live-action adult Timmy Turner. In the series, college-aged Timmy is played by Caleb Pierce, who has previously appeared on Unsafe and The Big Bang Theory. He appears in Princeton insignia to bestow Viv with her new fairy godparents, thwarting the original cartoon canon that children will forget their fairy godparents once they grow up.

Although the live-action cast is new to the Fairly Odd Parents universe, Daran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee will return to voice the characters of Cosmo and Wanda. The rest of the cast consists of Ryan-James Hatanaka as Viv’s father, Ty Turner, Laura Bell Bundy as Roy’s mother, Rachel Ragland, and Imogen Cohen as Zina Zacarias. The trailer also reveals that fairy enforcer Jorgen Von Strangle will be returning, also voiced by Daran Norris.

Quite Odd Parents: Quite Odd is a curious Roger Rabbit-esque hybrid that hasn’t been attempted many times at such a budget level for a full series. Whether the show will be a success remains to be seen. However, it’s sure to intrigue millennials who grew up on the original show and now have kids who need to be entertained.
