LOS ANGELES, October 14, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Creating Conceptually Inspired Art Awards with a Commitment to Crowdfunding in the Arts, MOZAIK Philanthropy launched its 3rd Future Art Awards: Ecosystem X, an artistic reinvention of life on planet Earth. The prizes are open to all professional artists, amateurs and students of United States, using contemporary art as a vehicle for social change. BIPOC and historically marginalized or under-represented artists are encouraged to submit their art.
The Future Art Awards are open to all American artists using contemporary art as a vehicle for social change.
MOZAIK Philanthropy convened an independent jury of artists to review art submissions through a blind review process, intended to reward 10 featured artists with $ 5,000 award honoraria before the new year. A new prize was announced this year, the Future Student Art Prize, which will reward a $ 5,000 scholarship / stipend for an aspiring high school, college or higher student to advance their studies in the arts. Collectively, all award-winning artists will present their works in a curated virtual exhibition, open to the public free of charge in early 2022.
The jury members of the Future Art Awards: Ecosystem X include: Stacey R. Queen, educator, artist, art historian and blogger; Native Hawaiian artist, illustrator and visionary, Salomon Robert Nui Enos; historian of art, architecture and social sciences, Lea Gallant; artist, anti-violence activist, scholar, teacher, mother and citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Kimberly robertson; chinese sculptor, Jiannan wu; Haitian-American, self-taught cartoonist, Jason “JaFLEU” Fleurant; 18 year old production design artist, Jacob Wiant; and Iranian interdisciplinary visual artist, Ghazal Rahimi. The jury is made up of featured and special mention artists and writers from previous Future Art Awards and Future Art Writer Awards, modeling a circular economy where previous winners ‘pay it forward’ to the next generation of scholarship recipients in the field of arts.
Previously, over 100 artists were featured in the Future Art Awards 2020 and 2021, spanning all ages and career stages including: photographers, painters, sculptors, street artists, muralists, multimedia artists, visual artists, multi and interdisciplinary, illustrators, animators, 3D artists, designers, technologists, short filmmakers, poets, art writers, composers, weavers, dancers and creative artists.
