Nathan Fielder’s New TV Show Reveals Mysterious New Trailer

0

Having signed an exclusive deal with HBO in 2019, comedian Nathan Fielder, best known to many for this hit Comedy Central series Nat for youunveiled the first trailer for its new television series, Repetition. In the trailer, all we see is a young mother talking to her baby while men in a control room watch a series of monitors showing images from around the house. Fielder walks behind them pacing as the title card appears on screen. Not much is clear about the series from these images, but the comedian himself promised “very soon” in his trailer tweet. Check it out below.

When The Rehearsal was first picked up by HBO, there were a few details about what the series would be. Last year, Deadline reported that Fielder would write, direct, star and produce the series, describing it as “set in a world where nothing ever seems to work out the way you hoped, Nathan Fielder gives people the opportunity to repeat for their own lives.” The trade noted that HBO wouldn’t reveal if the series was a fully scripted series or if it was something similar to Nathan For You, based on reality, and frankly, after seeing the trailer, it’s still unclear what the series will be like when it premieres.

Fielder’s The Rehearsal isn’t his first job with HBO, as he’s also executive producer of the hit comedy How To With John Wilson, the wildly funny reality show. The comedian is also developing a television series for Showtime, titled The Curse, where he will star alongside Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone and Benny Safdie (Uncut Gems, Obi-Wan Kenobi). A scripted comedy that mixes genres, The curse explores how an alleged curse disrupts the relationship of a newly married couple as they attempt to conceive while co-starring in their problematic new show on HGTV. Check back here for more details on The Curse and The Rehearsal as we learn more about them.
