Peril! Champion Amy Schneider shared what she liked most about competing this week. During a conversation with hello america, the highest-earning woman in the show’s history says that leading by example for her community is the most important part of being Jeopardy! champion. This historic winning streak attracted a lot of media attention. But, at the end of the day, she shows up and plays along. Talking to CMG, Schneider also gave details of his buzzer strategy. Only four people in the history of the game show have won $1 million in prize money, and she is the latest. She was the engineering manager in Oakland, California. But, now Amy is a household name as people tune in to see how far she can go with this streak. As for the secret to getting good at this game, she said “the main secret is just to be curious and spend my life learning a lot of things.”

“I think the best part for me was being on TV as myself, expressing myself and representing the entire trans community,” Schneider explained. “And just showing something different than what some people may have seen, of just being a smart, confident woman and doing something super normal like being on ‘Jeopardy!'”

The show is probably happy to move past the hosting conversation. Sony decided to tell staff members that producer Mike Richards would not end up being a host. “I am writing to let you know that Mike will no longer be a Wheel and Jeopardy EP! effective immediately,” Executive Vice President of Business and Strategy Suzanne Pete told the production teams. “We had hoped that when Mike stepped down as host at Jeopardy! that would have minimized the internal disruption and hardship we’ve all been experiencing over the past few weeks. That clearly didn’t happen.

Richards wrote his own statement, “I was deeply honored to be asked to host the syndicated show and was thrilled at the opportunity to expand my role,” the executive producer wrote. “However, over the past few days it has become clear that moving forward as host would be too much of a distraction for our fans and not the right move for the show. As such, I will be leaving my guest post with immediate effect.
