The Content Power Ratings study, conducted by Starcom Romania, which is based on an innovative TV program ranking system, indicates that the top favorite TV shows of Romanian audiences during the fall 2021 season were led by Asia Express – Drumul Împărațilorfollowed by Las Fierbinti. The latter also had the most views on Youtube and also won one of the top spots in terms of social media fans. The show iUmor also ranked 3rd, leader in terms of social media fans and 2nd in terms of Youtube views.

We expect this to increase even more in the future, as it is a point of significant contact, especially with young audiences who have massively migrated online in recent years,” said George Mușat, Head of Business Analytics.

On social media, the Content Power Ratings study indicates that TV show fans are debating TV show topics less, with comments down 35% from last fall . In this respect, the biggest drop is seen on YouTube (-51%). Less affected by this trend, Instagram recorded a drop of only 7% in the number of comments. The platform is also the only one where fan interactions with published content are increasing (+42% more reactions compared to the 2020 season). This is mainly due to the Asia Express account, which has more than 4.7 million reactions during this period. The audience for videos posted on YouTube is also down over this period compared to 2020 (-41%): while last year the first account had more than 70 million views and the second has more than 62 million, this year, the first place goes to the account with more than 39 million views.

Asia Express – Drumul Împăraților (Antena 1) is the show that has attracted the most interest from fans, of all the programs produced in Romania and broadcast in the fall 2021 schedule of the TV channels. In fourth place is the show Direct access (Antena 1), which also gained a position from its place in the Spring 2021 season. The program continues to rank second in terms of social media followers, but has dropped in ratings in 16th place. Moreover, it also did not perform better in terms of YouTube views, dropping from 7th to 13th place.
