Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi in a sweep against Raj Thackeray

Taking a dig at MNS leader Raj Thackeray over his call for the removal of loudspeakers atop mosques, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Thursday tweeted a video of late Sena founder Bal Thackeray and said that people who copy would always be several steps back.

Notably, the MNS chairman had tweeted a video on Wednesday, reminding his cousin and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of the latter’s father (Bal Thackeray) stance on loudspeakers and people offering namaz on the roads.

“The original. For all the cheap copies, a lesson: the people who copy will not always be one step away, but several steps behind,” Chaturvedi tweeted along with a music video from Bal Thackeray.

In the video posted by Chaturvedi, Bal Thackeray is seen frisking his nephew Raj Thackeray, saying someone is mimicking his speaking style.

Raj Thackeray was once considered Bal Thackeray’s political heir. The MNS was founded in 2006 after Raj Thackeray left the Shiv Sena.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also hit out at Raj Thackeray without taking his name, saying Bal Thackeray never used any loudspeaker to pursue his policies.

Bal Thackeray used his cartoons and speech to “tear down” leaders, Raut said.

“We thought Balasaheb’s legacy (as a cartoonist) would be continued, but the BJP strangled him,” Shiv Sena chief spokesman said, alluding to Raj Thackeray.

Renowned designer, Bal Thackeray had edited “Marmik”, a magazine devoted to cartoons. His nephew Raj Thackeray is also a talented draftsman.
