Spider-Verse Producers Discuss Possible MCU Crossover

0

A crossover with Marvel’s live-action heroes isn’t out of the blue for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One), according to the producers of the upcoming animated movie. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were recently on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, where they were asked about the #SpiderVerse’s connection to the entire MCU following what was seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While it’s not solid confirmation that the Spider-Verse is connected to the entire MCU, Lord and Miller’s comments presumably lend credence to their created universe being part of a larger cinematic universe yet to be seen. This isn’t the first time we’ve been teased about a potential live-action crossover with the MCU, either. Last year, while speaking with SYFY WIRE, Tom Holland and Zendaya both said they’d love to be a part of the next two-part Spider-Verse movies, to which producer Chris Miller tweeted a GIF that simply said : “Call me”. After the phenomenal success of Spider-Man: No Way Home that spanned multiple universes within the Spider-Man live-action movie franchise, perhaps Sony is finally able to see the potential to make are these heavyweights coming for another multiverse outing in the upcoming animated Spider-Verse movies? We’ll find out when the first part of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hits theaters on October 7th. #SpiderManNoWayHome has finally confirmed its first streaming service, and it’s not Disney+. No Way Home will be coming to Starz over the next six months. And finally, actor Stellan Skarsgard who has seemingly confirmed that Rogue One spin-off series Andor will get a second season.
