For nearly 40 years, almost every day, we have had the cartoons drawn by Sridhar providing unlimited political entertainment as we manage to spill over into the popular daily Eenadu. In August, he resigned from Eenadu due to his second bypass surgery and also suffering from Covid19.

However, various rumors are circulating that Sridhar is likely to join another major news outlet and some have speculated that he is offering a new political show where his own analysis is the word. But then, there is no word from the legendary designer on anything. But it eventually emerged that Sridhar was setting up a drawing institute in Pragathi Nagar, Kukatpally, in order to share his heritage with devotees.

It is not known if this will be a professional art institute or a place that teaches comics as a hobby, but currently it is announced that “Sridhar’s Art Institute” will teach comics at all people over 12 years old. Certainly, it’s worth learning from a legend like Sridhar whose cartoons reflected the plight of the common man and never stopped satirising even against NTR and Chandrababu that Eenadu sponsored.

Meanwhile, such a legendary designer who retires to a simple art institute seems hard for his die-hard fans to digest, doesn’t he?
