Online brokerage platform Stake launched its first campaign through independent creative agency Bear Meets Eagle on Fire.

The black-and-white animated campaign pays homage to turn-of-the-century animation, reminiscent of Mickey Mouse cartoons from the 1930s.

In the 60-second spot, an animated character delivers a spoken word performance, voiced by Baltimore-based Black Chakra. The character talks about using Stake to break into the financial world, a historically guarded industry.

Micah Walker, Founder and Creative Director of Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, said: “The Stake team came to us with a pretty clear idea of who they were and what they believed in, so we just took them. helped translate these foundations into an original idea and voice.

“I’m pretty sure a call to arms, inspired by 1930s animation, wasn’t what they expected, but hats off to them for buying all the way and committing to do things right. A big thank you also to our friends at Augenblick Studios and everyone else involved for helping us create something we are all very proud of.

Stake co-founder and CEO Matt Liebowitz added: “The team at Bear worked hard to understand what Stake truly stood for and found a way to turn that spirit into something unique and totally unexpected. . I can’t wait to see this in the world and there is no better place to plant our flag than at the Olympics.

Stake CMO Bryan Wilmot commented, “For the first time in the large-scale market, we needed a partner who truly shared our ambition. The Bear team is passionate, meticulous and throughout the process has shown genuine care for our brand. This has led to exceptional work, unlike anything else on the market.

The campaign was launched on TV, during Channel 7’s coverage of the Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony, and will also be shown in cinemas, outdoor and digital.
