Ben Shephard must have stifled his laughter on Tipping Point after a contestant mistook legendary poet Homer for a Simpsons character of the same name.
In Monday’s episode, the host, 46, asked Dom, a teacher at a Manchester primary school: âIn his poems, Homer often refers to nectar as the drink of the gods and what other substances as food?
Ben was talking about the influential Greek poet Homer, but Dom thought he was referring to the cartoon character Homer Simpson.
He said to Ben, “Well, I know he likes donuts.”
Ben’s jaw dropped before he repeated the question and the guest realized his blunder.

The host struggled to keep a straight face as he said, “I think he may have realized he was gone for the wrong Homer” as it was revealed the correct answer was “ambrosia” .
Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the blunder.
