In the great debate over which decade was the best in modern American history, the ’90s certainly have a good case. Michael Jordan, a balanced budget, Seinfeld, and more, including a much more rudimentary and quieter internet, mark the heyday of modern times. Of course, other decades like the 60s and 70s also have a good point, but let’s stick with the 90s for now.
One of the most prominent aspects of the 1990s was its TV shows and especially its cartoons. While great shows like emergency and The Fresh Prince of Bell-Air dominated the airwaves, as did shows like Rugrats and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So while we often show respect for songwriters like Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell in these pages, let’s also take a moment to enjoy those tunes we soaked up as kids in front of the glowing animation.
