Four years have already passed since the three seasons of Ash vs Evil Dead ended on Starz – and when the show ended, evil Dead Franchise star Bruce Campbell has announced that he is officially stepping down from the role in Ash. At least when it comes to physically playing the character on screen. Since then, writer/director Lee Cronin has made a new evil Dead movie called Evil Dead Risewhich does not have Campbell in the cast and will be released via the HBO Max streaming service, and Campbell has vocally reprized the role of Ash for the recently released Evil Dead: The Game. Now, during a new interview with Collider, Campbell revealed that Ash vs Evil Dead may continue as an animated series, with him providing the voice of Ash!

After mourning the cancellation of Ash vs Evil Dead, which would have shown Ash battling the forces of evil in a high-tech future had it had a fourth season, Collider’s Perri Nemiroff asked Campbell if there was any hope for this story to continue. Campbell replied

Yeah, like an animated series. You pick up where the show left off. You can make the future much easier in animation. You know, and I still sound like Ash. My voice hasn’t been as battered as my body has been, so I can still do this shit. So I’m still going to do the video game and we’re already talking about an animated series.

Seven months ago, Campbell said he would be willing to provide the voice of Ash for an animated film. evil Dead series, and it looks like the idea has progressed to such a point that he and franchise creator Sam Raimi are now in talks to start such a series. This is very exciting news for me. It will be a different experience to watch an anime movie evil Dead project, but I’ll take all the Ash I can get, however Campbell can.
