Tori Kelly visited the Ellen Degeneres Show promote the new animated film, Sing 2. Country star Brad Paisley was invited and the two discussed the holiday season, the new movie, the 2022 Grammys and more.

Kelly opened up about her return as Meena the Elephant in Sing 2. The bright-eyed singer was all smiles when she first met Brad Paisley and revealed it was her first time sitting on the “Ellen Couch”.

Christmas vibes were still in the air as the two singers discussed the 2022 Grammys as well as voiceover work. Kelly is nominated for Traditional Pop Vocal Album For Her A Tori Kelly Christmas album. She was also nominated in the Album of the Year category, for her work on the Justin Bieber film. Justice album.

“I didn’t expect that at all,” Kelly said of his appointments. “I didn’t know the nominations were being announced… It was a huge surprise and a huge honor. I hope I can go.

Tori Kelly on ‘Sing 2’ and voiceover work

In Sing 2, the sequel to the 2016 hit musical, Kelly plays Meena the Elephant. In the film, Kelly voices a character with an exquisite voice, who has already overcome stage fright. For Kelly, the voiceover job is a strange task to take on.

“It’s really fun and you can’t be afraid of being silly,” Kelly said. “It’s very disturbing.”

Kelly congratulated Garth Jennings, the director of the film. She described him as a “child at heart” who helped her finish her job. In all the awkwardness of the voiceover work, The masked singer alum still found familiarity in this particular career.

“It’s like being in a recording booth and recording a song. That part that I felt comfortable with,” she said.

Kelly wore an original all-pink ensemble inspired by Bella Freud’s 70s. She matched with pink nails and hoops and finished off her look with her signature curly hair. Kelly ends 2021 on a positive note between her new movie and her new book The blues of curly girls. Sing 2 is currently in theaters.
